Staunton Group Practice (Morum House Medical Centre) Refurbishment
We are excited to announce that in November 2026, the The Staunton Group Practice will begin a 10-month program of refurbishment works. These works will repair and secure the existing premises and modernise our clinical and patient spaces in line with current standards, supporting better patient care.
What are the works?
The works include repairing the roof, upgrading the clinical rooms, improving the flow and layout of the main reception and waiting room, repairing and improving damaged areas of the practice and providing new spaces, for example, a seminar room for patient events.
Will you remain open during the work? Will I be able to get an appointment?
The practice will remain open Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm during the work, with the usual facilities available. The regular clinical team will be available, and you will be able to see a clinician face to face, as normal.
The practice will be closed on Saturdays for the duration of the work. The clinic we usually run on a Saturday will be run during our Monday to Friday opening hours, there won’t be a loss of appointments. This is to allow the most disruptive work to take place outside of appointment times, which will minimise the impact on patients and staff.
You will still be able to collect blood test forms, prescriptions, and other paperwork from Reception as normal.
Can I still contact the practice in the usual way?
Yes – the practice remains fully operational, and you can contact us by phone, in person and online via eConsult or the practice website.
Will the practice remain accessible throughout the work?
Yes – the work will be phased and patient access will be maintained throughout. There may be times when access is via a different door or gate, but there will be signage and people on hand to guide you if need assistance. There will always be step-free access to the practice.
Will disabled parking still be available?
Yes – however there may be times when only 1 space is available rather than 2. We are working with the team undertaking the work to confirm how they will manage this.
How will you communicate with us about the work?
We will update this webpage monthly with progress and what’s coming next, including anything you need to know, this could be temporary layout changes, for example. Printed versions of the updates will be available in the practice as well.
Feedback and information
If you have additional questions that we have not answered, we welcome you to contact the practice directly, either via the Contact Us Form or via phone, and the team will get in touch to discuss your query. We’ll add any questions we are asked frequently to this page.
Your Patient Participation Group (PPG) representatives will be kept up to date with the work and will have the opportunity to give feedback to the practice at our meetings (for more information about joining the PPG, see the page on our website or ask in the practice for a leaflet).
Safety
Areas of the practice that are having active work completed will be blocked off to patients. We ask that you follow any instructions given to you when on the premises for the safety of yourselves and the staff.
We want to thank you in advance for your patience while we undertake these works, we appreciate your support and look forward to continuing to provide your care while we improve the premises.
