Approval of Minutes of the last meeting (EM)
Last meeting Minutes agreed.
NHS Contract
CW stated that we had not received much of an update; CW informed the group that we had received confirmation via email that the caretaking contract had been extended for 3 months. CW informed the group that NHSE is waiting for the next Primary Care committee and Commons meeting where they would formally ask for an extension for the care taking contract which is 3 months with a potential to extend up to 6 months. They can only confirm the 3 months due to the outcome of the judicial review.
EM felt that it is important for someone from the North London Care Commissioning group or NHSE should come to the PPG to explain what is going on. CW offered to ask that NCLCCG/NHSE representatives attend next meeting and copy EM in the letter. EM stated that the PPG had written to Catherine West MP, as agree a previous meeting. EM thanked everyone for their input. CW followed up with EM in a phone call.
EM stated that she shared with her what she knew as the PPG Chair about the contract for the surgery. EM informed the group that NHSE had given Cassie permission to share with EM, what she knew as the PPG Chair. EM stated that CW has copied a letter she had sent to Rachel Lissauer, from the NCLCCG, raising her concerns. EM stated that she would send a copy of the letter to everyone as CW has given her permission to share the letter with PPG
Update
HM stated that it has been extremely busy. HM said that we are in a great place, have been able to maintain the clinicians we have, doctors working regular sessions and patients can follow up with the same clinicians. The quality of the work of the Locum consultation is checked to ensure it is good. We are ensuring that every contact counts and that service is great.
We are getting good feedback from our patients.
We are allowing elderly and vulnerable patients to come in to book appointments. With the COVID rules being relaxed we are also relaxing our door opening policy.
COVID 19 Vaccination
HM mentioned that we now have 2 walk in clinic for the COVID vaccines. This is the first of its kind. If you are 45 years and above these patients have the option of two walk in clinics. We are ensuring that the vulnerable patients have quick access to the COVID vaccine. Patients can book via the NHS web site.
We have had great uptake with the vaccine and many of our patients are eager to take their 2nd vaccine. Our surgery has a 91% uptake for the COVID vaccines which puts in the 3rd position in HARINGEY.
Quarterly Newsletter
EM asked about MF with regards to the Newsletter. HM informed the group that MF had been pulled away from the practice due to the magnitude of work with the Covid vaccine process and other projects.
